This is Kahmal and he's getting married in August to his lovely Japanese fiance. He's a tall and lean guy who we thought would look best in a lean suit. The lean look offers both comfort and good style whereas a skinny suit would give you plenty of style but offers no comfort.

I heard they're having a traditional Indian wedding and it excited me! They're often colourful and always full of intense happy energy. I wish this new couple a joyous new life together!

We had a request recently from a nice lady who was looking to get a super-bling costume made based on a shirt that she already owned.

I'm not going to lie. It was incredibly difficult for our seamstress to produce such a peculiar piece. The style was not straight forward and the stretchy sequin material made it 10 times more difficult to make.

But guess what? Our crazy talented seamstress made it anyways. She's one of those people who I love giving great big hugs to because she's like Rumpelstiltskin who can make gold out of straw, except she's not really a gnome and isn't evil. Best of all, she's real.

European-style Suit. Great For Slim Guys.

I'm a huge fan of the sleek and skinny European-style suit. It's most flattering on guys with an average or slim build. Men who are muscular or are on the heavier side should probably stay away from this style because you would literally look like you are busting out of your suit.

European-style suits have a "shrunken" feel to them. Everywhere is lean. The waist on the jacket is very well defined, the pant waist is high, the legs are narrow to the point of almost uncomfortable and the pant hems are so short your socks show even when you're standing up.

Jay Su here wanted something of the sort but opted for a tiny bit more relaxed fit. He didn't want skin tight but he also didn't want boxy. We made him a suit that was in between. The legs are narrow but still comfortable. Keep in mind, narrow pants means it will break more at the front. His jacket length is an inch shorter than what we'd normally make for a guy his height simply because he wanted longer legs.

The result is a skinny but comfortable suit. Hooray for European-style suits! They make you look tall and lean which is look desired by many modern guys.

About three weeks ago, Alejandra brought in some white linen fabric for us to make her a feminine little jacket that she would wear to a reunion. That is the best kind of fabric to use for the warm weather to come (Yes, Vancouverites, you better believe that we'll be getting a HOT HOT summer this year--according to the climate-studying people). It's breathable and easy to care for because you don't need to worry about the wrinkles and creases. In fact, linen looks best unironed. We agreed that three quarter length sleeves would make it even more summery and girlie! We know she's going to look fabulous in it!
